Glucagon-Like Peptide-1 Receptor Agonists in the Management of Mitochondrial Diabetes in an Adolescent: A Case Report

Mitochondrial diabetes is rare and typically treated with dietary intervention and oral hypoglycaemic agents. Most require insulin. Novel treatments are available but are not well characterised.

Whose Outcomes Count? Rethinking Measurement in Global Autism Research

Autism research is only as interpretable as the tools and practices used to evaluate change. Measurement determines what is counted as evidence, how needs are recognized, how change is evaluated, and how findings are compared across individuals, studies, and contexts.

Carer- and self-reported mealtime challenges for children and young people with cerebral palsy: What do they tell us?

This study describes the carer- and self-reported mealtime challenges for children and young people with cerebral palsy. These data are novel and incorporate the consumer's perspective to inform service delivery.

Multi-pathogen situational assessment and forecasting of respiratory disease in Aotearoa New Zealand

Real-time analysis of epidemic trends and forecasts can help support public health planning and the response to seasonal respiratory disease. Here, we present two models that were used in a 2025 New Zealand winter situational assessment programme for three respiratory pathogens: SARS-CoV-2, influenza and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). Data on SARS-CoV-2 were obtained from the national Covid-19 surveillance system; data on influenza and RSV were limited to a sentinel hospital surveillance programme.

Parent-reported outcome measures evaluating communication in individuals with rare neurodevelopmental disorders: A systematic review

Communication impairments are a leading concern for parent caregivers of individuals with rare neurodevelopmental disorders. Clinical trials of disease modifying therapies require valid and responsive outcome measures that are relevant to individuals with RNDDs. Identifying and evaluating current psychometric properties for communication measures is a critical step towards the selection and use of appropriate instruments.

B cell epitope mapping: The journey to better vaccines and therapeutic antibodies

B-cell epitope mapping is an approach that can identify and characterise specific antigen binding sites of B-cell receptors and secreted antibodies. The ability to determine the antigenic clusters of amino acids bound by B-cell clones provides unprecedented detail that will aid in developing novel and effective vaccine targets and therapeutic antibodies for various diseases.

Transcriptomic analysis of primary nasal epithelial cells reveals altered interferon signalling in preterm birth survivors at one year of age

Many survivors of preterm birth (<37 weeks gestation) have lifelong respiratory deficits, the drivers of which remain unknown. Influencers of pathophysiological outcomes are often detectable at the gene level and pinpointing these differences can help guide targeted research and interventions. This study provides the first transcriptomic analysis of primary nasal airway epithelial cells in survivors of preterm birth at approximately 1 year of age.

EphA3-targeted chimeric antigen receptor T cells are effective in glioma and generate curative memory T cell responses

High-grade gliomas including glioblastoma (GBM) and diffuse midline gliomas (DMG) represent the most lethal and aggressive brain cancers where current treatment modalities offer limited efficacy. Chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cell therapies have emerged as a promising strategy, boasting tumor-specific targeting and the unique ability to penetrate the blood-brain barrier.

Development of a Novel Mobile Health App to Empower Young People With Type 1 Diabetes to Exercise Safely: Co-Design Approach

Blood glucose management around exercise is challenging for youth with type 1 diabetes (T1D). Previous research has indicated interventions including decision-support aids to better support youth to effectively contextualize blood glucose results and take appropriate action to optimize glucose levels during and after exercise. Mobile health (mHealth) apps help deliver health behavior interventions to youth with T1D, given the use of technology for glucose monitoring, insulin dosing, and carbohydrate counting.

Enhanced versus standard hydration in acute ischemic stroke: REVIVE—A randomized clinical trial

Early neurological deterioration (END) within 72 h of stroke onset is associated with poor prognosis. Optimizing hydration might reduce the risk of END.
