With rising levels of physical and mental health issues, ensuring children establish good physical activity behaviours early in life is more important than ever.
Physical activity provides young children with many physical benefits such as the development of healthy bones and muscles and fitness. It is also important for young children’s mental wellbeing and critical for their social-emotional and cognitive development.
We work with parents and the community, government, non-for profit organisations, industry and other professionals to understand where research may be needed, working with our partners throughout the research process so that our findings can be used to support young children to have physically active, happy, healthy lives.
