Stress and anxiety are significant problems in children and adolescence with type 1 diabetes. Not only do they impact quality of life and wellbeing, they are also associated with poor glycaemic control in the present and future, which is a risk for long-term diabetes-related complications.
However, our understanding of the link between stress, anxiety and blood glucose levels in young people with type 1 diabetes is limited. By using an iphone app and continuous glucose monitoring technology, we hope to better understand how glucose levels and emotions change over the day.
