Pathways between racial discrimination and the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people

This PhD project aims to examine the associations and causal pathways between racial discrimination and the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal children and young people aged 0-17 years.

Investigators: Carrington Shepherd, Leah Cave, Stephen Zubrick

This PhD project aims to examine the associations and causal pathways between racial discrimination and the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal children and young people aged 0-17 years. The project will apply statistical models from life course epidemiology to national, longitudinal population datasets describing the health of Aboriginal children and young people to generate a greater understanding of how racism interacts with the health and wellbeing of these children over time. Results from this research will be used to inform policy and interventions that aim to address racial discrimination and help to combat its harmful effects.
