Project description
Craniofacial anomalies (CFA) are present in many rare syndromes, occurring in about 1% of births with birth defects. They may significantly impact the quality of life of individuals and their families. There is considerable overlap between the presence of intellectual disabilities (ID) and of birth defects because both often share a common aetiology however, there is limited evidence regarding the association of CFA with ID. The present study will explore the population burden of CFA and the possible association with ID through linked datasets.
