NHMRC funding has been awarded for 4 years to Murdoch Childrens Research Institute. The first year will be dedicated to development of the challenge strain (that is, the bacterial isolate that will be used in the challenge of the human volunteers), with years 2 and 3 dedicated to running the clinical trial and the fourth year for analysis of samples.
Andrew Steer is CIA and Jonathan Carapetis is CIB. The END RHD CRE has also provided funding towards to this project, and Jonathan is significantly involved in this project.
