The lungs are one of the last organs in the body to develop as a baby grows in the womb. Babies born prematurely will have lungs that are not fully developed which may lead to both short and long-term breathing problems.

The Kids Research Institute Australia is working with Princess Margaret Hospital for Children and King Edward Memorial Hospital to understand how lungs grow and develop in premmie babies and looking at lung function and air travel.
