Global Warming and Kids: Problem or Solution?

Dr Farrant took up his current position as a Post Doctoral Fellow in the Human Capability Team in 2010. Prior to joining The Kids Research Institute Australia he completed a Bachelor of Science with Honours and a PhD in Developmental Psychology at the University of Western Australia. His research focuses on the importance of early childhood development. He is particularly interested in how to connect this to strengths of Aboriginal people and culture. Dr Farrant is also interested in how broader ecological factors like global warming, biodiversity loss and population growth will interact to affect children's development now and in the future.

Dr Howlett completed her PhD studies in 2009 at the MCRI in Melbourne, where she worked on gastric cancer cell signaling. She joined Prof Kees' Leukaemia and Cancer Laboratory at the Institute in 2011 and her projects are centered around unraveling the role of connective tissue growth factor in paediatric leukaemia.
