Dr. Kate Senior is a post-doctoral research working in infectious disease modelling with the IDEM team, led by Prof. Nick Golding. She is an ecologist with a range of experience in ecological modelling and loves to work on problems that have real-world applications. Much of her previous research focuses on modelling how bushfires affect native Australian animals at different spatial scales, working closely with collaborators in the Victorian Government Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action.

Dr. Senior completed her PhD at The University of Melbourne in 2021 and then spent two years working there as a postdoctoral research fellow. She maintains ongoing connections to The University of Melbourne through an honorary appointment and active collaborations with the Melbourne School of Population & Global Health.
