Amelia Freeman is a Research Assistant with the Healing Kids, Healing Families team, where she contributes to research focused on improving the mental health support available to young people who have experienced trauma or illness. Her work includes a project aimed at improving understanding and support for young people who experience trauma and dissociation, and she has also supported the evaluation of a wellbeing intervention for adolescents living with Type 1 Diabetes.
Alongside her role at The Kids, Amelia works at Curtin University's EnAble Institute on the implementation of the LYRIC youth mental health intervention. Drawing on her background as a counsellor, she values the connection between clinical experience and research in creating meaningful mental health outcomes for young people.
