Amanda Cleaver

Head, Research Services

BSc(Hons) PhD MBA ARMA GAICD

Dr Amanda Cleaver is a seasoned leader in research strategy and operations and is currently Head of Research Services at The Kids. She has over two decades of experience spanning academia, not-for-profit, and industry sectors in the medical research field. Her previous role was as Director of the Raine Medical Research Foundation, where she developed and managed competitive grant programs and spearheaded strategic growth through partnerships and fundraising. Previous roles include helping researcher career development as a Research Development Advisor with the Faculty of Medicine at UWA and as a postdoctoral scientist in tumour biology and immunology fields. She holds a PhD in Cancer Biology, an MBA (Distinction), and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Amanda has made strong contributions to the sector through collaborative leadership and has deep sector knowledge and commitment to advancing research impact for the benefit of the wider community.

At The Kids, Amanda has led transformative initiatives in research governance, infrastructure development, and strategic partnerships. Her role encompasses oversight of research grants, research ethics, governance and integrity, research platforms, and facilities. She plays a pivotal role in ensuring operational efficiency and facilitation of the highest quality research for the benefit of kids and families.
